A little advice is you need to know the leaders in your industry in your community and who are the players, this way you will have a better picture of your business.
When my twin daughters celebrated their 21 st birthday, I took a trip with them to Las Vegas to celebrate.
Yet, there I could take so much of that “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” lifestyle. I took a side trip to visit two work centers to get some ideas and to learn about how other co-working places operate. My son, Luis, and Tara also came with me.
I feel passion for my business, for this reason I always want to learn more about it and how to improve VenturePoint for my clients, suppliers and my community. A little advice is you need to know the leaders in your industry in your community and who are the players, this way you will have a better picture of your business.
The two places shared an interesting contrast in their operations. The first was housed in a garage, and the receptionist looked like she came to work in her pajamas. Sure, she was nice, but it made us aware of how important a professional looking representative to greet our customer’s guests was needed.
They had a policy that allowed pets to come to work with their owners, which I didn’t care for either as there are some people who are allergic to animals. Not to mention my friend Matt who was bitten by a dog as a child. Watching this open pet policy affirmed our policy of not allowing our owners to bring their dog or cat to work with them.
Luis Jr, Tara and I went to a second co-working space too. This was more professional looking with lockers, but businesses had to compete to get into the space. This made me realize that our current policy of allowing anyone with a business need was a good policy. The monthly price was much higher that what we charge our members.
If you travel on business somewhere outside of San Antonio and find a co-working space somewhere that would meet your needs, would you share with me what you learned about them. VenturePoint is always willing to look at new ideas to make it better for you, our clients.
