what should someone look for as an alternative to Starbucks? More and more, professional co-working spaces are beginning to appear in Texas. If you are considering the pros and cons of these spaces, here’s some factors to consider.

There comes a time in every small business professional’s life that he or she wishes he had an alternative to Starbucks or Jim’s as a place to meet new clients.
Why should one forget Starbucks as a place to hold a business meeting? While all of them have great coffee, these  often have baristas who like to blast out their establishments with loud music. If you want to get to know more about a potential client, it’s kind of hard to understand things such as where they grew up or the college they attended while listening to one of Adele’s soulful ballads blaring at a loud level.
Now, factor in those soccer moms who like to bring their babies or toddlers with them to these coffee places.  Can you imagine the impression one might make when a child begins to scream at the top of their lungs to get their parent’s attention?
So, what should someone look for as an alternative to Starbucks? More and more, professional co-working spaces are  beginning to appear in Texas. If you are considering the pros and cons of these spaces, here’s some factors to consider.

Factor #1:

Is there a good receptionist to great a client?  In evaluating a co-working space, I would really evaluate the person who meets your customers, especially new ones. A co-working receptionist that spends more time checking his or her Facebook or Instagram feed does not provide a very positive impression.

Factor #2:

How clean is the facility, especially the restrooms?  It sounds simple, but a dirty restroom or an uncleaned break room can make a very negative impression.

Factor #3:

Does the co-working facility provide a good cup of coffee or a cold glass of water? Some co-working facilities can factor in well when one considers that some of them provide services for about 12 cups of coffee at your local Starbucks.
