Spending time wisely

We have an extra day this year! Here are some ideas on how you can use that extra 24 hours to help your career, start-up or yourself:

Reach out to an old colleague, and schedule coffee

Since February 29th falls on a Saturday you can leisurely work. Often the best business opportunities are within your existing network. These people already know your expertise and work ethic and more importantly, trust you.

Just schedule coffee or a phone call, catch up with them, and find out how you can help!

Read an article that will give you an idea

In other words, be inspired.

Have Google help you with this one. Search your industry or an industry you are working with followed by ideas, tips, strategy, etc.

Or maybe you subscribe to magazines or blogs you haven’t had time to read yet, use this extra 24 hours to learn more and generate some ideas of your own.

There are so many benefits to this one! Exercise also makes your brain stronger, aerobic activity stimulates the growth of new neurons. This phenomenon is called neurogenesis. In addition to bulking up your brain, exercise can lead to higher productivity, greater energy, improved mood, and sharper decision making

Like Einstein said “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”

Writing a blog article or LinkedIn post about your company and your offerings is an easy (and humble) way to highlight your expertise. It’s also great content marketing that can boost your SEO. Which can be beneficial for any business, whether you are an established brand or a start-up.

Similar to teaching this exercise can sharpen your knowledge by sharing it with others. Nothing cements understanding like the process of explanation.

Do your bookkeeping and taxes

Yep, it’s also that time of year. If you’re behind on recordkeeping or other paperwork, get it done.
