“I fell in love with it once I understood what hospice was about and how it impacted the lives of our patients and their families.”
Tell us a little bit about you.
My name is Brandy Gomez, your healthcare partner in our San Antonio community for over 13 years. I’ve been in the healthcare field primarily on the administrative end, from opening healthcare organizations, contracting, credentialing, and even selling insurance.
What inspired you to start Loving Arms Hospice?
It wasn’t too soon after my first job as a contracting specialist with the WellMed Medical Group that I found my love for our senior community.
Years down the road I was introduced to Hospice and wasn’t too sure about how I felt about it, dealing with the end of life was something that I wasn’t too crazy about but I fell in love with it once I understood what hospice was about and how it impacted the lives of our patients and their families.
I’m proud to say that my family and I have started our own hospice and provider assistance service agency and our family and staff at Loving Arms Hospice are proud and honored to meet the end of life healthcare needs of our patients and families.
What is Hospice?
Hospice is a service that is provided to patients that have an illness that is terminal and the outcome is death.
In Hospice, we prepare the patient and their families for the end of life primarily focusing on the patient and family’s spiritual needs through our chaplain, psychosocial needs through our social worker, and clinical needs by our nursing staff. We focus on the family as a whole.
